Goonies Heading to Broadway?
By James A. on March 29th, 2007

You just might get the chance to plunk down $150 a ticket to see the “Truffle Shuffle” on Broadway.
Director Richard Donner says there have been talks of turning “The Goonies” into a musical. Donner tells Entertainment Weekly that he and Steven Spielberg, who come up with the story for the 1985 pirate treasure adventure, have discussed it, “and it’s something that I’m fairly passionate about right now.”
Donner also said that attempts for a “Goonies” sequel never got off the ground. ”We never had a script. We tried a couple of times and every time we did, we realized, ‘What are we doing?”’
I can’t wait for the closing number of “Sloth Love Chunk!” I’m crying already.
“The Goonies” starred (pictured above) Jonathan Ke Quan, Sean Astin, Martha Plimpton, Corey Feldman, Kerri Green, Jeff Cohen, and Josh Brolin. The old man in the back is Richard Donner. The movie’s screenplay was written by Chris Columbus.
