Cartoonist Keith Tucker gave me permission to share this Captain America toon he created. Visit his website What Now Toons for more.

The news is canceled most of the time these days. Anna Nichole smith, followed by more and more mindless fluff. So to no surprise I see the death of a comic book hero, Captain America, pasted all over the media outlets. However the Ironic part here is that this fictional death is most patriotic for the most liberal of reasons. The storyline deals with losing our freedoms since 9-11, and Captain America’s true to character, has revulsions to this attack on our civil liberties, and takes the side of the peopleagainst the establishment. Wow! The Marvel house of Ideas has gained my respect again.
Yes we all know that super hero deaths are not permanent, clones, or a myriad of other resurrections are possible, and the fact that there is a big budget Captain America movie in the works, but this super hero death is profound in the face of this new American Century, that has the PINAC group out to change it and the world. Make Mine Marvel.
I devoted this week’s cartoon to Cap, see it at my website.

I hate Republicans!
But, hey, is Captain America a democrat or republican?

Cap was killed by the head of Marvel Mr Bendis because he wanted to protest the War.
Then he came up with Bucky (Cap’s war time sidekick) somehow living these past years and becoming the new (Gun in hand) Captain America.
Bendis is a Democrat by the way.

Can’t wait for these movies. I have high hopes for the Captain America movie (I really think Chris Evans can pull it off, just watch Sunshine and you’ll understand). Also Jason Statham as Union Jack would be awesome. God these are going to be some great movies.
